Matter of Fact

It has come to my attention that some people may consider my matter of fact side rather rude. Or maybe they think I am angry.. So let me shed a little light on me.. If I am mad at you.. I will let you know.. I don't get mad easy (unless it is at Kris or my kids..lol)

When I talk to someone via, email, or IM.. The way I say things is the way they are.. I can guarantee there are no extra hidden connotations or anger.. No need to read between the lines.. If you are a good friend of mine, that is even more reason for you to know and understand this.. I don't get angry over minor stuff.. especially not stuff that very literally has nothing to do with me.. lol..

Everyone has their own personalities and mine just happens to be a pretty strong one... So if I say something to you and you start thinking I am mad.. chances are.. I'm not.. if you aren't sure, just ask..:) I will be happy to clear things up for you.

I regard honesty above all else, so you can be sure that if I tell you I am not mad that I am telling the truth.. I find no reason to lie.. it just seems pointless to me.

So my friends, just know that I am only being Matter of Fact, not angry when I tell you something... and if the way I talk bothers or confuses you.. feel free to let me know and I will try to be more sensitive to your nature. The last thing I want to do is to make my friends uncomfortable..

As a matter of fact... I am smiling right now.. and am most of the time.. :) I am a pretty happy person and like to see those around me be the same way..

ASA Crashed....... AGAIN

To say the least I am getting rather tired of the site crashing once a week.. I get even more tired of people basically getting pissed off at me for it. Yes, I know threads were lost when they had to reboot from a previous backup .. yes it sucks.. but it was only a weeks worth.. and no.. I cannot not do a backup of the site every single day.. Makes me want to shut the whole thing down just so I don't have to deal with it anymore.. sigh.. Ok.. so that was enough of my rant..lol..

I got the site back up and talked to the host about preventing it in the future.. I did what I could and am hoping it was enough.. only time will tell.. I will just make sure I do a backup right before I move.. cause heaven knows when I will have internet access back after I leave CA. ..

1. If you could have any superpower, what would you have? Why?
Only one.. hmm.. I am going to go with Teleportation.. would make those pesky deployments much easier..and visiting home..lol

2. Who is your style icon?
I don't actually have a style icon... I just try to find anything that is comfortable, looks good (most of the time) or doesn't make me look pudgy.. ie a lot of black..lol

3. What is your favorite quote?
When you stop learning, you stop living.. written by me... cause it is so very true .. knowledge is the bread of life.


4. What is the best compliment you've ever received?
I would have to say anytime people tell me that they love my photography that would be one of the best compliments I could get.

5. What playlist/cd is in your CD player/iPod right now?
I don't listen to music much.. at least not on a playlist.. it is usually the radio or pandora.. so there is no particular songs or artists.

6. Are you a night owl or a morning person?
Hmm... I am kinda in between..lol.

7. Do you prefer dogs or cats?
Definitely a cat person... I like my animals the same way I like my people, independent and self sufficient.. I don't like having to take care of an animal like it is a child.. I have never needed to get a babysitter for my cats when I take a week long trip.. set them up with a feeder and waterer and several clean litter boxes and we are good to go.. No worries about them eating my shoes or tearing up my couch cause they are "depressed" that I am gone.. I never understood dog people.. but to each their own.

8. What is the meaning behind your blog name?
Pretty self explanatory... My blog is about life and the things that occur within it as I see them.. everyone sees things differently and these are my views.

So I decided since I am going to shut down my actual photography site that instead I would add a photography blog. I already have a fb account for my photography so this will just be a little addition to it. Anyways.. not much else to say about that.. just a little fyi..lol

Age Vs. Height

Am I the only one who has trouble with this.. For me and I don't know why I do this, but I have always equated height with age.. To me, the taller you are, the older you are.. It is hard for me to see shorter people as older than me just as it is hard for me to see taller people as younger than me.

As for how I see myself.. I am not sure.. I see myself as a mature grown woman.. but I wonder if others see me that way.. or if they see me as a child.

Sometimes I think people treat me like I am much younger than I am which tends to drive me crazy... I always wonder if people determine my age by how I look or how I act. Or if they take a mixture of both. So then I wonder how "old" do people really think I am..

Does the fact that I have blond streaks in my hair hurt my photography business? Do people not believe how long I have been doing this because of the way I look? And to answer your question, No, I do not think I "look" younger than I am.. but I don't feel my age..lol..

So what do you think? Do you determine someone's age by some menial factor like height? Do you determine it by maturity? appearance? A mixture of these?

If you took a look at me would you believe that I have 6 years of experience in Photography? Would you believe that I have been doing it for 5 years Professionally? Even more so.. would my hairstyle make you think less of me as a professional? I know tattoos can make someone seem less professional, so what about their hairstyle?

A Pause...

After the 30 days of me posts I have kinda been taking a hiatus... just didn't feel like blogging I guess.. not that there wasn't stuff to say...but there is always that voice in my head saying.. "maybe you shouldn't say that out loud" so most of the time, I don't.

Anyways, Kris came back on friday.. finally. We had the weekend together and now he is back at work for very long days.. .He leaves by 5am and it is now 630pm and he is still not home.. sigh.. I will be glad when this crazy schedule is over.

So today I just kinda woke up with an attitude... idk why.. just one of those days... random things all getting on my nerves... I went through some more stuff in my room and garage and added to our junk pile.. I will be so glad to get rid of most of this stuff.. Just carrying it around with us kinda drags me down... I would like to ship some of it home to florida to put in storage.. but it is doubtful that will happen... I know there is a lot more stuff I need to part with.. but as of yet I haven't been able to..

I am also slowly working on cleaning up the house.. you know "move out clean" Of course we will have one or two days here with no stuff in the house to clean up.. so it should be fairly easy to get it done then.. Only a month and a half left here.. and honestly.. I am ready to be done with it at this point.. I keep wondering where we are going to put all of our stuff since we will not have a garage at our place in Wa.. another reason why I have been working to get rid of things...

Ok so this just ended up being a bunch of random ramblings... I will try to blog more often.. hopefully.. I do need to start my 30 days of pictures.. just not motivated to do that just yet.

30 days of me- Day 30

Day 30 -- whatever tickles your fancy


I have to say I am happy that this 30 days of me journey is over..lol

Today hasn't been that interesting.. but I did get a few things scheduled. The movers called today and we will officially be packing out on Nov. 1st and 2nd.. and the truck is supposed to pick up our stuff on the 3rd. That might change a little after they come and do their inspection.. but all that would happen is one or two of the days will be cut off ..

I called Mcleod's orthodontist and made is last appointments.. He will be getting his braces off on the 26th of Oct. and they will give him a retainer.. We know that he will have to have braces again later.. but for now this is all they can do.. since he doesn't have all his adult teeth yet.. I informed him that if he doesn't wear his retainers like he is supposed to and his teeth go crooked again, I will not get him braces again.. so he will determine that. So for right now, his teeth are straight. :) I wish my parents had done that for me when I was 10! Would have saved me a lot of teasing..lol..

I also ran an upgrade on ASA.. just some minor stuff.. bug fixes..stuff like that.. Made myself a new siggy since I have had the other one for soooo long.. even though I love it.. But I like my new one too..


I also got to talk via IM with a few great ladies today.. that is always nice.. I am so ready for this move stuff to be done already! lol..

Ok, so that is pretty much it!

30 days of me- Day 29

Day 29 - hopes, dreams and plans for the next 365 days

Hopes, dreams, and plans for the next year.. hmm.. well we are planning to move again, to where, I do not know yet but it will happen. We plan to visit all the places Kris remembers from growing up in Washington and we plan to have Tristan start school in August. My dad is planning to fly here on the 4th of November so he can ride up to Washington with us.. It should be a great trip.

My hopes... I hope that my family stays healthy and safe.. I also pray for that...I hope that my nieces enjoy spending the summer with me as they will be with me for June through August and I cannot wait to see them! I hope that I can have a positive impact on the lives of others and make them smile. I hope that no matter where life takes us we will always be able to view things positively. I hope that my family and friends always know how much I love and appreciate them.

My dreams.. well.. I don't know that I really have any dreams.. I have more than I could have ever dreamed of right now... I have a wonderful relationship with a man that I love so very much, three great kids that drive me batty at times but are still great kids.. One of the best FF's that I could ever ask for .. and many other friends that I have grown even closer with in the past years..
So I will say my dream is to continue to meet new people, have a positive impact on them and even make some new friends along the way.

Day 28 - this year, in great detail

Hmm.. a year huh.. in detail.. well you probably won't get that out of me.. but... I will give you a few highlights..

August 2009

We were in florida preparing for a deployment and had alora's bday party early so Kris could be there. Spent time with family in Florida.


Sept 09
Flew back to SD packed up the house and put everything in storage with the help of some great friends. Kris flew out to meet me, we went to vegas.. said our goodbyes and I flew back to florida and he flew to the ship. Alora turned 1. I spent time with the ladies I met in pensacola Kela and Jen and time with my family in Lake City.



Oct. 09
Spent time with friends, went trick or treating with the kids. Started going to a church we liked.

Nov. 09
Went to live oak for thanksgiving. Spent more time with friends. Spent time with my nieces and visited with family.



Dec 09
Had my birthday alone at the house just myself and the kids. Got 3 days of gifts from Kris sent to me. :) Spent Christmas in Live Oak and Lake City .. got to spend it with my family for the first time in years! After Christmas my two youngest nieces got to come back to stay with me until it was time for me to move back to SD.

Jan 10
Hung out with my nieces a lot getting to know them and doing lots of shopping. Took them to get new glasses also. Played lots of computer games with Kami.
Celebrated Tristan's 4th birthday!

Feb 10
Spent more time with my nieces .. and my friends. Celebrated Mcleod's 10th birthday. Did a few photo shoots.

March 10
Time to say goodbye.. took the girls to Tallahassee so they could see the state capital before taking them home. Took Sapphire home and picked up Mystry. Spent my last two days with them and with Dad and Heather. Said all my goodbyes and cried as I drove away from my dads house for the last time. Left Florida with the kids and drove cross country back to SD. Got to SD 4 days later and went to Nicole's house. (thanks Nicole!) Got a place to live and Nicole & Whitney helped me out with my move in. KRIS CAME HOME!!! WOO!!!



April 10
I was so glad to have Kris home I don't remember this month! lol. I think easter may have been in there though.. not sure..lol

May 10
Kris left a week before his birthday for a school in Jax. Celebrated Kris' birthday with a surprise party after he got home from his class in Jax.

June 10
Mystry came to visit us for two weeks and it was really great having her here!! We went to the state fair, twice! Got old tyme pictures taken.. had lots of fun.. then had to say goodbye.. Kris & I celebrated our 6 year wedding anniversary at the Melting Pot.. it was lots of fun!



July 10
Had a 4th of July bbq and lots of friends came.. even had a couple more bbqs after that..

August 10
Kris left early this month and was gone for most of it.. so i didn't do much.. I did do a couple pinup photo shoots though.

Sept. 10
Kris left again.. Did a photo shoot for Alora's bday and my inlaws came to visit.


So that is a year for me in a nut shell.. obviously there is much more that happened throughout that time.. but I don't remember enough to give details.. my life is more of a photo journey.. so if you wanna know what i did.. I am sure you can find it in pictures on fb..lol

Alora is 2 years old

Today our baby girl turned 2 years old. It is a sad day for me .. for a few reasons.. one, our youngest and only daughter is growing up so fast, and two Kris cannot be here with us today. :( She is such a joy and the light of our life.. so for this birthday I am going to share some pictures of Alora throughout her two years of life.. :)
